I loved your class at Common Market Saturday! It was awesome. I’m planning to attend all your classes at Common Market. Your presentation was so informative and interesting…….You are a natural! And the food was delicious. Thank you for sharing so much with all of us. So far I’ve made the green drink 2 x, the Thai soup (that was to die for!)-- John loved it too!, the Apple Treat (absolutely delicious), and the banana ice cream with strawberry sauce (Mmmmmmm!!) We made it Saturday and Sunday nights! We have a huge patch of organic blackberries growing in our yard and I can’t wait for them to ripen so I can make a blackberry sauce for the ice cream. I’m making the cabbage this week and the lemonade too. What a great menu, what a great time. You were born to teach and you do belong on the food channel! J
2 cups basil leaves
1/4 cup pine nuts (soaked one hour and drained)
2 small or 1 large garlic (peeled and minced)
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/4 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Juice from one lemon
Blend in Vita Mix until Chunky or smooth, pour over Zucchini or Squash noodles. Enjoy!
Making Raw Soups always Remember
If you want Chowder use water and nuts ( cashews, almonds, pine nuts, walnuts )
If you want Stock use water and oil ( organic first cold pressed oil is best )
6 Flavors of Raw Foods Needed for Most Dishes ( 1 Bitter/ 3 Seasonings)
1. Bitter - sage, poultry, dandelion, endive, parsley
2. Sour - cranberry, sorrell, rhubarb, lemon, lime
3. Salt - Sea Salt, Himalayan Salts
4. Sweet - Dates, raisins, honey, agave, yacon syrup, maple syrup
5. Astringent - dry and light like popcorn
6. Pungent - hot & spicy like chili peppers, garlic, cayenne, ginger

Delicious Kale Chips
*You need a Dehydrator for this recipe*

Buy lots of kale
Wash and cut kale it will shrink quite a bit, so not too small
Soak Kale in water and 1 teaspoon of salt for 30 minutes
Drizzle kale with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and Nutritional Yeast
Now get creative and add seasonings like Italian, Chipotle, Cayenne, Jerk, Or just oil and salt. The more seasoning the stronger the flavor, don't over do it, dehydrating concentrates the flavors.
Dehydrate until crispy and enjoy!!! My kids love to eat this even before they go into the dehydrator!!! It's a great way to enjoy a well seasoned salad! Enjoy!!!
